Provides general service to all types of doors, locking hardware, automatic assist operators, and building envelope and façade issues. Cuts, fits and installs glass in wooden and metal frames for a variety of purposes, including glass doors, windows, mirrors, storefronts, aquariums, display cases, skylights and glass building exteriors, technically known as curtain walls. Installs new and services existing locking hardware and pivot assemblies for aluminum frame, tempered, hollow metal, revolving, sliding, grille, and roll up door systems. Installs new and services existing automatic sliding, push, and revolving door systems meeting or exceeding ANSI standards. Identify, troubleshoot, install, service and recommends upgrades to sensor packages. The operations department relies heavily on this position therefore consistent attendance is key to successfully fulfilling the requirements of this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications or sketches to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required.
Must be proficient at measuring, marking and cutting annealed glass, laminated glass and mirror.
Must be proficient and measuring hollow metal, wood glass, and aluminum doors replacement installation.
Erect, dismantle and use scaffolds to access work areas up to 30 feet from ground level
Rig; De-rig and use suspended access equipment to access work areas in high-rise applications.
Operation of Scissor Lifts or Zoom Boom to access work areas up to 80 ft from ground level
Install and/or replace glass and IG Units using structural adhesive glazing techniques
Install and/or replace and IG Units using conventional glazing techniques in doors, storefronts, windows, curtain walls and other glazing situations.
Cut, drill and fabricate aluminum extrusion into various frame configurations. Install and/or replace balustrade glass and railings.
Install and/or replace, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals panels in various settings
Cut, polish and Install mirrorsReplace glass in furniture, showcases and other productsInstall, repair and service aluminum doors, sliding doors, grill doors, tempered glass doors, balanced doors, tempered glass doors and revolving doors.
Install and repair lock assembliesInstall and service hydraulic and automatic door closersInstall and replace silicone and polyurethane sealant joints on glass, aluminum, concrete and stone substrates.When required work as part of an expanded crew/team as required to install heavy or very large lites of glass.
Maintain and protect assigned personal power tools and safety equipment from damage or theft.Must be proficient with power cutting and drilling tools.Maintain vehicle parts inventory
Ensure assign vehicle has the standard tools and equipment
Perform routine maintenance and keep assigned service vehicle clean.Perform all assigned tasks in a professional tradesperson like manner

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May be required to supervise a junior or and apprentice glazier. The performance of supervisory duties must be in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma and 2 or more years of glass and aluminum service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret trade journals, technical procedures, building codes, the occupational health and safety act and other governmental regulations.
Ability to write Work Order and RFQ forms.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumeAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to navigate, create and save files with various applications an MS Windows operating environment.
Ability to use MS Word and MS Excel to create reports and spreadsheets
Ability to learn new computer skills and master relevant applications
Ability to enter data and maintain records in a windows driven database environment.
Ability to send and receive email with attachments.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Suspended access training (conforming to Ontario Ministry of Labour standards)

St Johns Ambulance Emergency First Aid
A valid Ontario Drivers License (Abstract must be approved by Stadia Industries Ltd fleet insurer)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
The ability to routine lift and carry load ranging from 50 lbs to 150 lbs and greater loads as part of a group effort
The ability to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs
The ability to use various power tools
The ability to work at various heights and on the exterior of multi-story buildings on scaffolding, ladders, suspended stage and powered lifts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
